K9 Legacy Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing lifelong sanctuary for retired military and law enforcement K9s who have no place left to go.

Many working dogs spend their lives protecting communities, detecting threats, and serving alongside their handlers with unwavering loyalty. But when their service ends, those with advanced age, medical conditions, or specialized behavioral needs are often deemed unadoptable. Too frequently, their options are limited.

We exist to change that outcome.

K9 Legacy Project offers a permanent, structured sanctuary where these dogs can live out the rest of their lives in safety, stability, and dignity. Our care is tailored to each K9’s history and needs—whether that includes ongoing medical treatment, experienced behavioral management, or simply a quiet environment where they can finally rest.

As a nonprofit, our work is made possible through the support of donors, partners, and a community that believes service should be honored beyond retirement. Every dog we accept is a lifelong commitment, and every contribution directly supports their care, well-being, and quality of life.
